Shell & Tube Condensers

Marriott Walker Corporation can provide shell-and-tube condensers to replace existing shell-and-tube units, or to replace direct contact, barometric (“wet”), condensers you may have in service.

“Wet” condensers are permitted for use on dairy and food evaporators, but many processors avoid them due to the constant possibility of cross-contamination between cooling water and product.

Many times, shell-and tube condensers are designed with water in the tubes, and the vapor to be condensed on the back side of the tube bundle. In some food processing applications, our “vapor-in-tube” arrangement offers some important advantages. If the process is subject to occasional upsets in which product may enter the condenser, a “vapor-in-tube” design provides form much easier cleaning of the condenser.
